Last week, the children took part in an exciting local history afternoon, exploring the impact of World War II on Ardleigh Green School. They discovered what school life was like for pupils during this time and discussed how the war changed daily routines, lessons, and experiences.
To bring their learning to life, the children then wrote a diary entry from the perspective of a child attending the school during WWII. Through thoughtful role play and imagination, they reflected on what it might have felt like to live and learn in that era. The children absolutely loved the activity, and their writing was brilliant - full of empathy, detail, and creativity.
A wonderful afternoon of learning that truly brought history to life!
