Year 3 have all enjoyed a great session with Fab Science today. As part of Rocks and Fossils topic, the children were able to consolidate their learning about the three different types of rock. They used chocolate which they carefully grated, then wrapped in foil and applied pressure and heat to understand how sedimentary rock is formed. They went hunting and found shark teeth, fossils and other types of rare stones. They even got to make their own fossils which they will be bringing home with them soon.
To finish the session, the children got to watch a volcanic explosion which was extremely exciting!
