This week, our Year 6 children investigated the question “Is yeast a living organism?” using a simple experiment with a bottle, warm water, yeast, sugar and a balloon. The children were excited to see the balloon inflate as the yeast produced gas, showing it was alive. Everyone really enjoyed the experiment and successfully concluded that yeast is a living organism.
